The Avala park is south-south-east of the city, on top of a 600 m hill. It includes recreation facilities and restaurants. The monument to the Unknown soldier (-) of the 1912-1918 wars (including the two Balkan wars of 1912, followed by the 1914-1918 world war), was designed by Mestrovic , who sculpted the gigantic statues of the women of the Yugoslav nationalities. The television tower is not currently open to the public, but the view is still worth seeing.
Kosutnjak is a park south-west of the city center, with roads winding in the woods. To be visited with a car, and somebody you like besides you.
